The plain terms for using CIBI.

These terms explain how CIBI may be used, what the app does and does not promise, and how to contact us about account, subscription, or service questions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service apply when you access or use CIBI, also called Can I Buy It?, including the mobile app, website, support pages, and related services.

By creating an account, signing in, starting a subscription, restoring a purchase, or otherwise using CIBI, you agree to these Terms and to the CIBI Privacy Policy at https://getcibi.com/privacy.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app or website.

2. What CIBI Provides

CIBI is an informational personal finance planning app. It helps you evaluate planned purchases using the information you choose to enter, such as income, budgets, categories, recurring expenses, transaction context, and one active savings goal.

CIBI may show budget estimates, purchase verdicts, and goal impact information. These outputs are planning tools only. They are not financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for deciding whether a purchase, budget, savings goal, or financial action is right for you.

3. What CIBI Does Not Provide

CIBI does not hold funds, move money, process payments between users or merchants, or provide banking, brokerage, trading, lending, credit, insurance, debt settlement, tax preparation, or bill payment services.

CIBI is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, lender, payment processor, credit counselor, tax adviser, or law firm.

CIBI does not guarantee that any calculation, category, forecast, scan result, or purchase verdict will match your complete financial situation.

4. Accounts, Apple Sign In, and Access

Some features require an account or sign-in method, including Apple Sign In where available. You may need access to the Apple ID, email address, device, or authentication method connected to your account to sign in, manage access, or restore purchases.

You are responsible for keeping your device, account, and authentication method secure. Tell us promptly at https://getcibi.com/support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may limit or suspend access if we reasonably believe an account is being used in a way that violates these Terms, creates security risk, or may harm the service or other users.

5. User-Provided Financial Data

CIBI works from information you provide or choose to store in the app, such as income, budgets, categories, recurring expenses, transaction amounts, notes, purchase context, and savings goal details.

You are responsible for checking that this information is accurate and current before relying on a budget estimate, purchase verdict, or goal impact calculation.

6. CIBI Pro, Subscriptions, and App Store Billing

CIBI may offer a paid subscription called CIBI Pro. CIBI Pro unlocks Impact Analysis and continued scanning after the free scan allowance.

Subscription prices, renewal periods, free trials if any, and purchase confirmation details are shown before purchase through Apple or the App Store purchase flow.

Subscriptions purchased through Apple are billed by Apple and are subject to Apple Media Services terms and App Store rules. Cancellations, renewals, refunds, and purchase restores are managed through your Apple ID, App Store account settings, or Apple support.

Deleting the app or your CIBI account may not cancel an active App Store subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel through Apple before the renewal date shown in your Apple account.

If the app includes a restore purchase option, it is intended to help restore eligible App Store purchases tied to the Apple ID used for the original purchase.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use CIBI for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes
  • attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that you are not authorized to access
  • interfere with the security, reliability, or operation of the app or website
  • submit malicious code, automated abuse, spam, or content that infringes another person's rights
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell CIBI except where allowed by law

8. Support

For product help, account questions, subscription restore issues, or App Review support, use https://getcibi.com/support or contact support@getcibi.com.

We aim to respond to general support requests within 3 business days. Privacy requests may follow the response timelines described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.

9. Ownership and Feedback

CIBI, including its app, website, design, software, copy, names, logos, and related materials, is owned by CIBI or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You keep ownership of information you provide to CIBI. You give us permission to use that information as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and support the service as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

If you send feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to compensate you.

10. Availability and Changes to the Service

CIBI may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service as the product evolves. Features may vary by app version, device, account state, subscription status, or availability through Apple and related service providers.

We try to keep public legal and support pages reachable without login, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the app, website, or support pages.

11. Disclaimers

CIBI is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation.

CIBI does not promise that the app will prevent overspending, improve your finances, meet a savings goal, or identify every financial risk. You remain responsible for your purchase, budget, subscription, tax, legal, and financial decisions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CIBI and its owners, operators, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, lost savings, subscription charges, or financial decisions made using the app.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to CIBI or these Terms will be limited to the amount you paid to CIBI for the service during the 12 months before the claim, or 100 USD if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Ending Use

You may stop using CIBI at any time. You may also request account or data help through the support and privacy contacts listed below.

Account deletion and data deletion are separate from App Store subscription cancellation. If you have an active Apple-managed subscription, cancel it through Apple to stop future renewal charges.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will revise the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of CIBI after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
